I am appalled at the negativity going around here when we all should be on the same side. Sure there's a competition going on, but why can't it be about the issues instead of the mudslinging? It's gotten so nasty out there. It's like progressives have suddenly turned into wingnuts - how the hell did that happen?

And while we're all bickering there are bigger problems and issues going on out there. Our government is promoting torture for Christ's sake. We have problems to solve. There is nothing wrong with questioning the backgrounds of the candidates to find where they really stand on the issues - that's a positive way to move forward, win the election and make some changes. But instead we're behaving like screaming toddlers over petty differences.
I don't mind when people post comments about their differences with me but they keep flooding my mailbox with hate and bad names. I haven't ever gone to another person's Vox and shot down their candidate. I can't wait until it's all over and I hope we can get together when the dust settles. Happy Valentine's Day! I know it's freezing up there.
Dude, it's gonna be 37 today - break out the bikinis!!

I know we've talked about this before, but I just can't get it through my head why people want to go out of their way to hate something.

So on a positive note - a very Happy Val day to you and Kev as well!!

We had 75 one day and it dropped to 20 the next day. Geesh. My Speedo is back on over my pants.

We got a surprise today in the mail and I was so happy. You are such a sweetheart. I'll have my portion while I'm being attacked tomorrow morning before work. The other things will be passed along to the apropriate species, lol.

I'm getting so tired of all the progressive thinkers I'm encountering lately. As long as everybody has what they want they seem to be okay with that. They don't seem to want everybody else to have the chance for all the things they enjoy (that other people fought for). I'm seeing raqcial slurs all over the place and most of them are directed at me. I'm starting to think about moving out of the country again. My freedom clock is ticking and I wonder if I'm going to make it to the finish line sometimes. With global warming maybe Sweden will warm up 30 or 40 degrees and I can handle the climate, lol. I know there's weed all over Amsterdam. I was very happy to hear Steven Spielberg backed out of the Olympics in China. Maybe Darfur might get some much needed help. Shit, I'd probably be better off there. I'm coming up that way in a month or so and I would love to see you if only for a cup of coffee and a therapy session. Thanks for the gift. You're a good friend Val. Hope you guys are doing good.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for this post!!!!

I whole heartedly agree. I'm thankful that on my pro-Hillary post I didn't get shit on, but I have a feeling it was only because I didn't attack Obama. What I find interesting is I saw numerous posts that were written after my pro-Hillary post, that were practically identical to mine...the only difference is that they simply switched the word Hillary for Obama. They got shit loads of comments and support. They were deemed "moving" and "thought provoking". I wonder why that was.

The whole Obama thing....there are some people's views I really, really respect. It surprises me that some people I know want to vote for him, but I would never attack them and tell them that they're a "fucking moron" for voting that way.

I support Hillary, and people's reactions to that have been pretty harsh. Even from my family. The reasoning behind why a lot of people want to support Obama scares me. That melodramatic "Yes we can" video scared me. It doesn't feel genuine. The cult like behavior doesn't seem informed. A lot of the reasoning why "Obama is change" is "He's not Clinton or Bush".

Saying that, I do realize and respect that there are a lot of people who DO like Obama for genuine reasons, and are making informed voting decisions.

I try not to talk about it too much because I can't deal with people's statistics and "voting history" and "true stories" and "fact" slinging.

I'm just really, really disappointed with people. I'm disappointed that adults can't have a DISCUSSION about politics without getting snarky and rude, and even more disappointed in how supposed Democrats and "Neighbors" are treating each other.

I try not to talk about it too much because I can't deal with people's statistics and "voting history" and "true stories" and "fact" slinging.

If I hear one more person try to convince me because of the polling numbers I'm gonna go postal.
LOL - speedo OVER the pants, I'm sure that's purdy. ;-)

Oooh ooh ooh!! I'd love to get together. Drop me a line and we'll work out the details.

I agree. It's not so much that I have anything against him as a person. His followers are alarming me terribly. My partner and I have been verbally attacked hundreds of times. We had our lawn signs torn apart several times and his supporter's got my partner's e-mail address and signed him up for about 50 pieces of Obama spam every day. They keep going to my vox and sending me private messages filled with lies and bullshit and then call me a racist. I take up for Hillary because I have really looked into her history and am pretty impressed with what she has done. I'm still hopeful. Whenever I slam Obama I always state ahead of time or during my post that I am doing it because the media refuses to discuss many major things that keep coming out about him. So I'm actually slamming the media and not him, per se.

There is a site you might enjoy called "noquarterusa". I post stuff from it because lots of us Hillary supporters don't evwen realize that we aren't the only ones going through what we are going through. Thanks for the encouragement. So many people shy away from talking about politics but I really can't think of anything more important right now. Things are getting very bad, very fast and if the wrong choices are made we are all in for a very bumpy future. The worst thing I have seen so far is how many 17 year olds participated in the caucuses. Older people get intimidated or are just too tired to stand for 5 hours so they stay home.17 year olds get to vote in caucuses. How is that I keep asking myself. They can't vote in Primaries. Why in caucuses. All these older people who have given so much of themselves are being bullied out of the process. Maybe because I'm getting older I empathize but I don't see too many 17 year olds that I want making choices about my future. Thanks.

That is absolutely disgusting. They rip signs off your lawn?!!? I am so, so sorry that you and your partner are under attack, simply because of your choices in politics. How disturbing is that? Freedom of speech, much??

Thank you for telling me about "noquarterusa". I was very unaware that the Hillary-supporter bashing was so widespread, and so prevalent. That really saddens me.

This election is ending up to be such a disappointment. I was so hopeful about a week ago. And then things just got really ugly after Super Tuesday.

All best to you, and to your partner. Keep speaking your mind. We need people like you on Vox, and just in general. ;)
