Vox Hunt: Thanksgiving... My Hero 365 Days a Year....
Show us what you're thankful for.
If I had to pick one thing I am thankful for it would be for my partners mom, Miss Jessie. I never had an Idol before but I think, in my lifetime, I have never respected or cared for a person as much. It all starts with her bringing him into the world. It wasn't an easy world for her. She had six kids, a disabled husband, and worked three jobs to make ends meet. She made sure they went to Church, Boy Scouts, Football, and whatever else it is that kids need to do when they are kids. She not only took care of a blind husband but also his guide dog. While her dream was of a simple, happy life her husband's dream was to be a Musician and make it in Nashville. She left her family behind and brought the kids to Tennessee. Life isn't really easy for anybody but knowing what I know about her and what she went through to take care of everybody makes me feel as though I have had it pretty easy. I can scarcely take care of what I have going on in my life and complain about work, and bills, and stuff around the house. She went non-stop for decades and did so in a selfless, good spirited way. I know many good hearted, good natured people. I have been around good and nice folks my whole life because they are the ones I choose to be around. With her it just comes naturally. She is a whirlwind when it comes to activities. She loves to travel, she loves kids, and family, and friends, and never forgets what is truly important. She is prepared for anything and is always the first person to step up to the plate and help others out. All you need to see is the pictures on my partners vox of how we spent Thanksgiving and you will get an understanding of this fine lady. All of these people have come to "be" because of her. All the fun I had today would not have been possible without all the sacrifices she made. Her kids are the best of people. Her grandkids make me hopeful that the future of our world is in good hands. She is what a Grandma should be. She is a great mom, a good example, and a kind hearted woman that has made my world a better place to live in. My only regret is that there are not more people as pure of heart as Miss Jessie. I don't think I have met a finer person. I am pretty sure I won't. My greatest hope is that she knows how much she means to everyone including me. My entire life is better because of her sacrifices and love. So, while most 46 year old men have a favorite ball player, action movie star, or some other figure they look up to, I have my Mother- in- Law to put in the highest regard. She has done her best to make this world a better place one encounter at a time. If only the rest of us could take her lead and treat others the way she does the world would be even better. I have had a happy Thanksgiving today. Kevin and I are lucky and blessed to have such great people in our lives. Here's the link to Webcruiser's vox so you can get a better idea of who and why I feel so fortunate. Webcruiser is what I am most thankful for. Our almost fifteen years together have enriched both our lives. The future looks bright from where I sit.

I have a bad case of stupid fingers, today :)
She has touched so many people's lives some that she met and others who have only heard her legendary story.
