I love Regina !!!
I can't believe Vandy beat UT. Nice! One of the sites for round one of the NCAA is here next month. I'd love to see Vanderbilt in the Final Four--that would be cooler than the whole Butler phenomenon a year or two ago.

Yay! I'm glad you finally got to see Regina and that it was great! These pictures are hilarious. A Billy Graham statue? Are you kidding me? Doesn't that violate something about false prophets? (Kidding, Graham was pretty mild compared to other televangelists).

I bet there are some folks in West Virginia who might disagree on the birthplace of bluegrass. :-)
Tey've been really fun to watch. Kind of miss-matched group of houligans. The noise was overwhelming. Almost. UT was number 1 for 33 hours, lol. We're in the top 15 and we'll see monday when the rankings come out.
It was such a special show and so great to see you guys --- thanks for posting! :-)
If only I could have got a shot of Regina Spektor on top of the weiner mobile in front of Billy Graham, lol. The potato chip was born in Saratoga. Did you know that, lol? Bluegrass definately came from the mountains. I think places always take credit for shit and make the other side fight to prove it. We still don't know where the first flight took place. Right around the corner from the Ryman is Union Station where Alison Crouse got her start as the Hotel Band, lol. She's touring with Robert Plant and tickets are through the roof. Ali is going to Bonnaroo. I'm just too freakin old or I'd go with her. It's about 45 minutes from here.

This is our third Vox get together Ali. We may have to have a barbecue this summer and have some of the others over. Maybe we can do that other show for your birthday if I'm not in new York. I still can't believe how teenie Regina was. What a great artist though.

Congrats on the victory!!! I heard about the UT upset and thought of you guys. How fun to have been at that game. Good luck going all the way - unless you play my Spartans. Then we'll have to have a friendly wager. :-D

I would love to see you guys anytime. Keep me posted. She was a little tiny elf of a thing, wasn't she? She was the craziest little pumpkin have seen in a long time and I was so glad I went. I just love duende when I see it, and it is rare.

That's a big compliment coming from the Ama Duende, lol. I enjoyed how she performed. It was totally artistic and half insane at the same time. I loved the percussion effects they did with a stick on the side of the piano and just her tapping into the mic while shesang. Very worth the wait.
Memorial Gymnasium is known for being a tough place for visitors because it is so freakin' loud. It was a great game though and we would never beat the Spartans, lol. Unless we played here. Both our men and women are ranked and Tennessee has about 12 of the top 64 teams for March Madness. Memphis in the west, Vandy in the middle and UT in the east. I still can't belive we won. We have a few rounds of the NCAA here but the tickets are way more than I can pay. Lauri works at Michigan State. Go Dores. If only we could get a real team name, lol. The Commodores. I still always picture that old band with Lionel Richie.
